FAQ

1.  When is the Prom?
The Prom will be held on Saturday, April 13th, from 8 to 11 p.m.
2.  Where will the Prom be held?
The Prom will be held at the Cactus Lane building located at 15880 W Cactus Road in Surprise.  Be sure to use the QR codes (you know...those funny looking little boxes with square dots in them) that will be on different Prom promotions to get info!  They look like this:
 3.  Do I have to bring a date?
No, dates are optional, but we recommend you bring a date.  This is a great opportunity for you to date in a safe, wholesome environment.  Come either way and have a fun evening!
4.  How much does the Prom cost?
Pre-purchased tickets for couples are $30 and $50 if purchased at the door.  If coming as a single, tickets are $25 if pre-purchased and $30 if purchased at the door.  BONUS:  If you purchase your tickets at Pre-Prom, you will be entered into a drawing for a gift card to a restaurant of your choice to help offset some of the expense of going to a nice dinner before Prom!!
5.  What is Pre-Prom?
To help you meet other young women and young men and to help tell you more about the Prom, we are holding a "Pre-Prom" event.  This evening will feature an introduction to our Prom and other fun activities.  Refreshments will be served.  Casual attire.  
6.  When and where is Pre-Prom?
The date for Pre-Prom is Wednesday, March 6th at the Surprise North Stake Center from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
7.  Will there be dinner served at the Prom?
No, dinner will not be served at the Prom.  Going out to eat before the Prom is part of the whole experience!  We will be having fun snacks, mints, and drinks though!
8.  Is it okay to arrive at the Prom in a limo?
Absolutely!  It's still a Prom, so if a limo is part of your plan, go for it!
9.  How old do I have to be to attend Prom?
You must be a Priest or Laurel and in high school.  If you will meet this requirement by April 13th, you may also attend the Pre-Prom event. 
10.  Can my non-member friends attend the Prom and Pre-Prom?
Absolutely!  They must agree to abide by the "For the Strength of Youth" standards.
11.  How do I purchase tickets?
You may buy tickets at Pre-Prom or you can order them by filling out a tithing/donation slip, writing "Prom" on the "Other" line, and then turning it to a member of the Bishopric as you do with your tithing.
12.  Can I pay for additional tickets?
Yes.  However, all recipients of Prom tickets must agree to abide by the "For the Strength of Youth" standards.
13.  What is the dress code for Prom?
Click here for info about the dress code.  Those who do not follow the dress code will be turned away at the door.
14.  What if I am not currently enrolled in a public or private high school, but meet the age requirement?
Those Priests and Laurels who are home schooled, or who have graduated early, but do not attend the Singles Ward or YSA activities, and meet all other requirements are eligible to attend.
15.  Will there be Prom pictures available?
Yes, we will have a photographer there to take formal and fun Prom pictures.  All couples will receive a link to a website where they can download their pictures to have them printed.
16.  I'm not really into blogs, but I'm all over Facebook.  Can I be updated via Facebook instead?
Yeah, we know the youth of today are all about social media...so yes, there is also a Facebook page for the Prom.  Remember that QR code up there toward the top of the screen?  Download a QR reader app to your smartphone and check it out!  If you don't have a smartphone or QR code reader, just go to the Surprise AZ LDS Prom page on Facebook.
