Now...before we let the cat out of the bag (although we have heard some of you already know), we'd like to share a few thoughts with you so you know why this particular location was chosen.
We prayerfully considered many locations. But one just kept coming back to us as the right place. Plus, none of the others (and we looked into many) worked for one reason or another - hours, impediments, cost, electrical considerations, etc.
When all was said and done, we knew this location was "the right place."
- It's close.
- It's free which helps keep ticket costs down.
- We don't have to worry about rain or excessive heat.
- We don't have to build a dance floor.
- We don't have to deal with people making car deals during the dance.
- We don't have to worry about bothering neighbors with noise and parking issues.
- We can set up the day before, not while customers are in the place.
- It's air conditioned so you don't get all hot and sweaty dancing in your pretty dresses and handsome suits and tuxes.
- It's just the right size for the number of youth we anticipate coming.
- Both stake youth committees told us they would be okay with the location - if the decor was spectacular.
- and...there are a lot of electrical outlets that will help us make it SPECTACULAR!
Yes, we are holding this year's Prom at the Cactus Lane building. You might say...what? It's going to feel like we're going to church, not to Prom. Well, we don't think you will feel that way afterward. A lot of people are doing a lot to make this the most incredible piece of Paris in good ol' little Surprise, Arizona, ever. Just wait until you see it!
So...if you were holding off on buying tickets to Prom because you didn't know where it's going to be, don't not come because of where it is...
Come because you want to be with good friends who are trying to be good kids.
Come because Paris is calling!
Come because it's going to be
SPECTACULAR!
Tickets will be available for sale at the door.
And...don't forget...pre-ordered tickets can be picked up at the Sarival building this Saturday right before General Conference - from 8 to 845 a.m.
